2009 Integrative Art in Public Spaces

Integrative art lessons and visual art projects together with pupils from surrounding local schools helped adolescent children in children’s homes and boarding schools to readapt to the demands of modern society. Through the creative interaction with each other, art teachers and artists, the aim was to develop the children’s imagination, art perception and creativity. After preparatory art lessons in mixed groups the children took part in a public art event, painting a mural onto public walls on different sites in Bishkek. The artworks of children from the year’s master classes were merged into one big exhibition. The show presented the efforts, artwork and fantastical imagination of children from various different social strata and different age categories. This exhibition mirrored the world found in children's hearts, as expressed in extraordinary views, embodied in bold as well as illustrated the effectiveness of master classes in promoting the development of children. The works are filled with joy and spontaneity, in which one could feel the development of young persons’ maturing outlook, still imbued with hope and faith in a bright and beautiful future.
